Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is an English actress who was born in France on April 15, 1990. She became famous for her starring role as Hermione Grange in the Harry Potter films. Emma was only nine years old when she was cast in the role of Hermione and her only acting experience was in school plays. During the period from 2001-2007 she starred in five Harry Potter films with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
Emma Watson the daughter of English lawyers of Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson was born in Paris, France. She had one French grandmother and lived in Paris until she was five. After her parent’s divorce, she moved with her mother and younger brother Alex to Oxford, England.
At six years old, Watson began to express an interest in movies and dream of becoming an actress. By the time she was ten, she already starred in a number of school plays including “Arthur: The Young Years” and “The Happy Prince.” However, prior to the Harry Potter films, she had not yet acted professionally.
After moving to Oxford with her mother and brother, Emma Watson attended The Dragon School, a private preparatory school until June 2003, then she moved on to another private all-girls school in Oxford, at the Headington School. Even during film sets, Watson and her friends were tutored almost up to five hours a day.
Even while focusing on filming, she sustained high academic standards and attained very good grades as a self-avowed serious student at the all-girls school in Oxford. Although Emma Watson signed on for the two final installments of the series, she has chosen to set aside this offer to focus on her studies.
Since she started working on the Harry Potter movies, Emma Watson and co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have formed a strong platonic bond with one another. She explains that it is a very unique support system that is difficult to explain. Both Radcliffe and Grint used to tease Watson when they were younger, but now they feel very protective towards her.
