This was quickly followed by a win at the Huron County Junior Miss competition in 1987. Robin then set her sites on a college degree and subsequently enrolled at Malone College after which she moved to Ashland University were she received her diploma in 1991.

Before graduating from college, Robin also managed to sneak in a win at the Miss Parma Heights event in 1990, where the Robin Meade swimsuit performance garnered her an additional special award.

Robin Meade was very proud of her heritage as a native resident of Ohio, and she spent several weeks touring its magnificent sights. The experience left such an imprint on Robin that she was inspired to make a bid for the Miss America crown. In September 1993, she went to Atlantic City to join the said event as the representative of Ohio. Here, Robin Meade proved to be just as at home in the bigger stage of the Miss America pageant as she was in the smaller stages of her native Ohio. With her winning combination of girl-next-door good looks, her sharp wit, and of course her strong Robin Meade bikini poses, she had the judges and the crowds mesmerized.

After such a strong performance, the five foot five inch hazel-eyed beauty seemed a shoe in for the top positions in the pageant. She went on to come in at the top of the competition, and landed a top ten spot in the 1993 Miss America pageant. This was a stunning achievement for those who remembered the big voiced young woman from Ohio, yet it was hardly surprising somehow. You only had to see a Robin Meade swimsuit competition performance to realize that this is a person who is destined for far bigger and better things.
